PhD in Sociology by Faculdade e Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH-UNL), with a dissertation about Culturas Adeptas do Futebol [Football Fan Cultures]. Graduated in Sociology at the same faculty.He teaches at Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCSH-NOVA) and is a researcher at Centro Interdisciplinar de Ciências Sociais da mesma universidade (CICS.NOVA). He is a member of the Scientific Coucil of the Observatory of Graduated Transitions to Labor Market of the university (Observatório da Inserção Profissional dos Diplomados da Universidade Nova de Lisboa – OBIPNOVA), and was the director and editor of the journal Forum Sociológico. His areas of special interest are broad: sociology of transition to labor market and work; sociology of football; youth sociology; and cultural sociology.
