PhD in Cultural Sociology by Instituto de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), based on research about pop music scene in Lisbon and the related youth subcultures. Presently is a Post-Doctorate research fellow at the CIES-IUL, from ISCTE-IUL. Member of the Observatory of Cultural Activities (OAC) research team, from beginning to dissolution, were he developed research about cultural policies and and evaluation of cultural programs and projects. He was part of the Observatory’s directing board and director of its journal OBS. Recently has developed and participated in several research projects in the cultural sociology and youth cultures domains, privileging issues like: community art and youth associations; punk and alternative music scenes; new artistic and creative professions. He is regularly invited to present seminars about Cultural Sociology in several universities.
