Vítor Sérgio Ferreira is a sociologist, Post-Doctorate research fellow at Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa (ICS-ULisboa). He holds a PhD in Sociology (2006), with specialty in Sociology of Communication, Culture and Education from ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. He is the Vice-coordinator of the Youth Permanent Observatory, a research program from ICS-ULisboa that establishes a network with other equivalent institutions from Europe and Brasil. He has mainly researched issues like the body and bodily transformations, youth cultures and transitions to adulthood, with emphasis in the new young people’s professional aspirations and insertions. Besides these areas, he has published and lectured in the qualitative methodological area. He publishes his work on a regular basis at national and international scientific recognized journals like Young or Youth and Society.
